Overview of 5 Day Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda.

Enjoy the sounds and sights of nature in its raw form. While here, you may also visit the Batwa who used to live in the forest. These are smaller people than the ones you have met.

Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzee Tour Highlight, 5 days

Day 1: Depart from Entebbe/Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. (Accommodation at Haven lodge, or Buhoma)

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking, evening Batwa cultural tour.
​
Day 3: Check out from Bwindi; Ishasha valley tree climbing Lions. transfer to Wana hotel,
​
Day 4: After breakfast, Chimpanzee tracking. Drive back to Kampala lunch on the way arrive late afternoon then on to Entebbe. Transfer to Sanctum Hotel

Day 5: Leisure Breakfast and possible small morning tour of the Botanical Gardens then off to the airport to return home.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After breakfast, embark on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Buhoma or Ruhija, depending on where you are going to track gorillas from. The drive takes about 9 hours. Lunch enroute. You will drive through the Banana land where most of the houses are in the middle of banana plantations, drive through tea plantations with beautiful scenery. Arrive the lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and an evening Community walk
Have breakfast at your lodge and then go to the park offices to get briefed and at 8:00am after which you embark on the Uganda gorilla trek along the designated trails within the impenetrable forest in search for these great mountain gorillas. The gorilla trekking might take you 2 – 8 hours to find the giant Gorillas depending on their movement. The trek/quest for these great apes is tiresome but very well rewarded by meeting, spending time with and photographing these great gorillas as you look straight into their inviting brown expressive eyes, this is a life time thrill of a wild life adventure only Africa can offer you. After your one hour with the gorillas, return to the Hotel for Lunch.
In the evening embark on yet another exciting adventure as you go through the Batwa community. For a long time, the Batwa pygmies depended on forest resources for survival. They used to hunt forest animals using spears and allows for meat and gathering plants and fruits for food. They could harness honey and depend on shrubs for medicine. They constructed huts using trees, leaves and climbing plants from the forest. In other words one can conclusively say that the Batwa Pygmies lived in harmony with the forest, and animals like mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, forest elephants, birds among others.
After the walk back to your accommodation for dinner and a good night rest!

Day 3: Morning Chimpanzee Tracking at Kalinzu wildlife reserve and then transfer to Kampala
After breakfast, You will drive through Queen Elizabeth national park via the Ishasha area home to the famous tree climbing Lions. You will drive through Queen Elizabeth National park for where you might get a chance of seeing other game like elephants, buffalos on the way. A game drive through the Ishasha valley, and later transfer to Wana Hotel. Lunch on the way. Reach the hotel in the evening for dinner and over night.

Day 4: After Breakfast; Embark on the drive to Kalinzu wildlife reserve which is like an hour away from the lodge. Enjoy Chimpanzee tracking. It takes about three hours then drive to Kampala. Lunch in Mbarara. Afterward, you shall proceed to Kampala arriving in the afternoon then on to Entebbe to the Sanctum Hotel.

Day 5: After Breakfast; Prepare for Flight home with a possible easy tour of the Botanical Gardens in Entebbe with lots of monkeys with babies in tow. Transfer to Airport
